About Alumni

Sri Govindaraja Swamy Arts College was started by the pronounced Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams(TTD) in the year 1969. Since then the college has produced many intellectuals, IAS & IPS civil servants, politicians, Scientists, literary men, academicians and entrepreneurs serving the society.

The Alumni Association of College has been functioning for many years as a supportive unit of the college with the following objectives:

Plan and organize successful reunions twice annually.
Involve alumni in student development through participation in ongoing academic activities including teaching, research, workshops, conferences, and placements.
Conduct all relevant fund raising activities for the development of the college
Promote best spiritual practices in line with TTD for the benefit of society.

The Alumni Association got official registration on 20-02-2019 with registration No. 77 of 2019 under the Andhra Pradesh societies Registration Act., 2001. Even prior to registration many Alumni members contributed by giving Cash Prizes and competitive examination books to meritorious students in respective departments, donating books to Library, plantations and conducting medical camps etc.,.

Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams(TTD) provides infrastructure, free boarding and lodging facilities for students and hence our college does not need any financial assistance. Moreover TTD accepts donations through Vidya dana Trust from donors contributing to education and our alumni members avail the opportunity along with public.

Alumni members join the association by paying Rs.500/- as membership fee and generously came forward to financially contribute to the association activities in our college as a token of gratitude. Final year students (2019-20 and 2020-21) also got membership voluntarily by paying Rs.100/- each. An amount of Rs.536056/- including membership fees and donations is credited to the account of alumni association as on 06.02.2022.

The alumni association convenes its meeting twice every year in order to reconnect with the illustrious alumni spread over different parts of the world and celebrates their success and achievements. Many competent and interested alumni members give guest lectures and guide the students in their respective fields for better employment and career.

The association members, former principals, teachers and the alumni from various walks of life participate in the events and make them grand success. Departmental alumni gatherings are also planned and conducted on that day or any other convenient day.

In the year 2008 honorable Ex-President, Dr.A.P.J.Abdul Kalam visited and addressed all the faculty members and students on the eve of YOUNG INDIA - 2020 programme. Alumni members of S.G.S Arts college Prof.P.Bala Siddamuni, S.V.U,Tirupati, Dr. D.Chandra Kesavulu Naidu, and the then D.E.O Dr.K.Nagaraju played active role in the programme.

In the year 1993-1994, Silver Jubilee function was celebrated in a grand manner along with alumni members and mementos were given to faculty members.

The Golden Jubilee Inauguration was grandly celebrated on 27.02.2019. Plantations, various sports & games competitions and cultural events were conducted on the occasion.

The following members actively work for the Alumni association to support the institution and guide the students in their studies and career building.
