  HOSTEL PROFILE

1. History of the Hostel:

                                        The benevolent Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams’ Management is kind enough to maintainan Attached Hostel to the S.G.S.Arts College, Tirupati with an aim of catering lodging and boarding at free of cost to all thepoor, rural, and socio-economically backward people of Andhra Pradeshas per the availability of the Hostel accommodation(Infrastructure) and as per the UGC Guidelines, from time to time in the hostel.

                                         The establishment of S.G.S. Arts College Hostel traces back to the History of S.G.S.Arts College which was formalised in 1969.  The hostel was inaugurated in 1972 to provide hospitality and boarding facilities for the benefit of the students.   Later it was shifted to the newly built Block- I of the present premises with the students’ strength of 450 in 1993.Later, the hostel has been expanded in 2016, and the second building, Block- II was constructed as per the demand and the hostel strengthwas increased to 1000. 
In the year 2021, the management constructed a new multiple six storey huge building, Block- III and permission was also granted to 1,400 students’ strength on par with the increased multiple admissions strength in the college.

At present, the benevolent TTD Management is providing food and shelter at free of cost to all admitted hostel  students hailing from poor and below poverty line families irrespective of their caste.
